Rendezvous with ground targets

It would be great if we could rendezvous with ground targets like we can space targets. Right now I'm builing a massive base and I honestly just want to take the lasy approach

It's possible. Just extremely difficult.

Right click, set as target and just go there, it doesn't matter if your target is in orbit or landed. I'm not sure what the suggestion is.

Are you talking about using maneuver nodes or the automated MechJeb rendezvous app?

Curious, I hadn't thought about using MJ with an airplane or suborbital spacecraft and a target on the ground. Would it work that way? I'll have to play around with that.

When I use the debug menu you can not rendezvous with ground targets as in teleport their

I do not want to fly all the way their or deal with reentry I just want to show up st the base and build it

Ah, yes that is not possible in the stock game.

You can do it with Hyperedit (to get on the ground) and VesselMover (to be exact).

You can't use the debug menu to rendezvous with a ground target because the debug menu's rendezvous system just places you some distance away along a random vector, which could lead to you being teleported underground or just high up enough to immediately fall and crash. I don't know quite how Hyperedit does it.

If you want to cheat yourself to an offworld base then you can do so, but you have to deal with entry and landing. You don't actually have to take along props for deorbit, though. Set the gravity multiplier to 1%, teleport to a circular orbit around the target world, and then warp around until you are approximately right above your target. Then set the gravity multiplier back to 100%. Your earlier velocity will be maintained, so you will simply fall out of space and land where you want to be.

Gotta get clever if you are at a higher latitude tho.
