RIP Neil Armstrong

Master

Recommended Posts

Niel Armstrong, like Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, and all the team at mission control that day, made history and changed the way mankind looks at the stars, for the first time ever, a human had walked on another world.

You will be missed Neil, but you will not be forgotten :(

"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" - Neil Armstrong. Today, the world loses one of its best examples of human innovation and achievement, and a source of inspiration to not only the United States, but to the whole world. His endeavors into the great and vast unknown gave our species a new vantage point in this universe, spurring us to ask new questions and to explore new frontiers. Had it not been for men like Armstrong, we would be lost as a species, endlessly toiling in the cradle of Earth. Through his actions, Armstrong brought us to the edge of this cradle and beyond, forever changing the human race.

A tragedy has befallen the human species in his death. It is not often such men arise on Earth. We must hope that more like him can find their way to the top, and lead us on into a bright future. But for now, we mourn. Today, we lost Armstrong. Today, a chapter of the human race was ended.

Today, we lost a hero.

Goodbye, Neil Armstrong. You will be missed.

He wasn't just an American hero, he was a human hero. We Americans have no problem sharing this man and his accomplishments with the world.

I'll quote someone from reddit, "That's one small death of a man, one giant loss for mankind."

Would I be out of line to request at least an unofficial recognition of Neil Armstrong by naming a feature on the Mun?

Like the Idea

But i would suggest THIS one..... it has ~roughly the right adress.... 00°41′15″N, 23°26′00″E

As someone who lives very close to where Neil Armstrong was raised and passed, as well as studying aerospace engineering at the same school that he did. I would like to say that he will be greatly missed, but that does not mean that we should look at this as a sad day but as a day where someone that was an amazing role model for so many reasons has finally said "this is where I get off, I want you to carry on not only my legacy but the legacy of so many like me."
