KSP won't load after DLC is installed...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm brand new to the KSP community, but have been playing the game for 3 years. I don't know how to mod or anything like that, or handle the files, just an FYI. Anyways. I bought the KSP Making History DLC off steam. After that, I had a problem knowing how to exactly download it. Contacted steam support, they told me to go in the tab in my library, and click "View downloadable content" and the problem was solved. Now, in my library, it says the state of the DLC is installed, so I ran KSP. Now its stuck on: Loading expansion assets: Making History (1/2), and it's stuck on it. So I turned off my computer, and I turned it on this morning. Started KSP, and left my house at 10 AM. Got home at 4, AND ITS STILL ON THE SCREEN!! HOW DO I INSTALL THIS????? Please I need an answer!

Thanks,

Joey

Sounds like it's a borked install.  Steam has a "Verify File Integrity" option or something, doesn't it?  I would try that first.

Normally I would blame version incompatibility, but I would think... I would HOPE that Steam would handle that correctly.

Usually, what you described happens with me when I delete something I should not - I do this now and then trying to diagnose problems on my heavily modded installment.

However, I'm a Steam user for some time now (since KSP 1.4.0 hit the shelves), and I never had a problem with plain vanilla installments. I can only wonder what happened to you.

Your first pass is, indeed, use the "Verify File Integrity" as proposed by Geonovast. - Right-Click on the KSP game, Properties, Local Files Tab.

Thanks, but I'm wondering, should I uninstall the game then reinstall? Because I have tried modding the game before, I guess I screwed it up. I don't know, if any of you have the making history DLC how long did the installation take?

Thanks,

Joey
