finnally back after awhile, questions

Recommended Posts

so i finnally got around to building a new computer and getting it all set up, i got ksp from steam, downloaded ckan, and noticed all of the mods i used to use are missing or no longer compatible:(

i dont remember what version i was playing back when, i thnk it was 1.3, or 1.4

was Kas/Kis split or something? i remember when i played before they were two mods in one, but when i download Kas from ckan i dont get Kis, and when i search for kis in ckan i get nothing :(
are their any visual mods for whatever version im playing? (im assuming im on 1.5? whatever the one listed on steam) i remember having EVE, and SVE but these arent available for 1.5

oh, and vens stock part revamp, i remembered using that, but ckan says its not available.

so i guess really my question is, how do i go about going back to whatever my previous version of KSP was?

Considering the game just updated a few days ago, you should probably just relax and play stock for a bit till all the mods catch up.   It'll do you some good.

is their any way to have two copies of the game in steam?

i figured out how to downgrade to the previous version i was using, but now im curious about the new stuff.

Not quite sure I understand the question, but after you download the game from steam you can copy it anywhere on your computer and it will still work. This is what you really should do when you create your modded copy of the game -- copy it to somewhere else and mod that copy of it, while leaving the original download as stock. So you would have three copies: a stock version 1.3.1, a modded 1.3.1 and a current 1.5.1 all in different directories on your system.

I  gotta  have  visual  mods  though  man

CKAN is very picky about versions, but many of the mods that CKAN says are not compatible will work just fine.  Environmental Visual Enhancements and Scatterer work fine in the latest version.  Just install them independently.
