I think it's more a look of solemn sadness. His voyage is over. No longer exploring the vast infinite space above them. Stuck back on his boring, empty blue green rock. Filled with sadness as his trip to the amazing empty frontier above him, has ended, trapped and cut off from his most innate desire, to explore.

That or he's concerned about the fact he's landed out in the middle of nowhere. Lost and alone. _{>shameless plug to my story series about this very outcome.}

I have made Jeb scream precisely one time. The rocket was collapsing beneath him, the pad was exploding, and the LES had been poorly configured and departed without the capsule.

It was glorious.
