Ignorance is indeed bliss.

Basically, they’ve added a clause that basically guarantee they emerge victorious in any legal dispute.

My lord, is that legal?

Your silence makes it legal.

We’re talking commercial disputes, of course, where at your own signature (the one that you made by accepting the EULA all that time ago) you may consent to the case being arbitrated under North Korean law, and everything in between.

I'm not planning to get into any legal disputes...

... The same way that everyone plans not to get mugged.

It's probability, not plans.

Mugging happen every day though. Private individuals running afoul of a EULA is an extremely rare event. And even then I personally have never heard of it happening outside of instances of large scale piracy.

Maybe Im wrong but IMO, people get way too overexcited about EULA matters.

Depends on the EULA. You might want to double check what is inside of it.

There was one odd EULA on Steam that allowed the representatives of the publisher to inspect the location the game is being played in, and the device it’s being played on, at any moment in time without prior warning.

Just keep in mind that no EULA is above the local law, so most cases of these unconventional EULA texts are not enforceable.

On top of that, at least once I have heard of a judge throwing out a EULA case based solely on the length of the agreement and how nobody could be expected to fully read & digest it.

Molotov cocktails thrown through a large corporation's window are an effective way of getting around forced arbitration. Same thing with a mugging.

Please don't take this seriously.

I only condone revolution if the benefits outweigh the costs and risk of jail time is less than 60 percent. Like getting rid of the Brits, or getting rid of a cash grab EULA.

I'd always argue "cock-up before conspiracy", but sometimes, conspiracy exists...
