Hi! I tried installing the https://github.com/linuxgurugamer/DockingCam and am able to select an Onboard Camera mod from the "Command and Control" section in side menu. However, I am  not sure how to enable it - I have tried right clicking on the camera but only the option to "rename the name tag" appears. Any guidance on how to enable the onboard camera to start its feed up on a side panel would be very helpful, thanks!

[I also installed the following two mods for reference: https://github.com/linuxgurugamer/ToolbarControlhttps://github.com/linuxgurugamer/ClickThroughBlocker]

Right-clicking a camera (or docking port) should have an option called "Docking Camera".  In order for this to you, you also need ModuleManager installed.

Without a log file, not much more I can say

Thanks for the quick response! I think I have the Module Manager installed, it shows up under my Logs folder. And here is my log file for reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jQI1eBZ6mI1mFx3uhx9D3eC5gB2okVxR/view?usp=sharing.

I see both kRPC and kRPC_old2, are you sure you need both of them?

What part are you trying to get the camera on?  I only see 7 parts it can be on:

  • dockingPort
  • dockingPortInline
  • dockingPortJr
  • dockingPortShielded
  • dockingPortSr
  • mk2DockingPort
  • InflatableAirlock

Besides that, it doesn't appear to be installed correctly, or it may be KRPC conflicting with it.  Try removing KRPC and try it again.

I seem to have kept an old installation around for debugging (kRPC_old2), my apologies for the confusion. I deleted that folder, re-ran KSP, and added a dockingPortJr on which to place the onboard camera, but right clicking on the camera still did not reveal any options to enable its feed. One question I had was whether the "Onboard camera", which can be found in the "Command and Control" section of the left side panel, is the same as the Docking Cam? If not, how do you search for and enable the Docking Cam? I have the updated log file for reference (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jQI1eBZ6mI1mFx3uhx9D3eC5gB2okVxR/view?usp=sharing) as well as a screenshot of what Onboard Camera I'm using (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sdTLo8KIETTe9h0let0Y6gpeyGuzl73b/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=106542521776206048566&rtpof=true&sd=true)

[LOG 13:58:25.107] AssemblyLoader: Loading assembly at C:\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\kRPC\GameData\kRPC\KRPC.DockingCamera.dll

This is a really basic installation error that would have been avoided had you used CKAN. My recommendation is to delete everything from the GameData folder, then use Steam to verify files (it will put back the Squad stuff), and then use CKAN to install mods.

Thank you for looking at this, and I totally agree with you about CKAN, it's the best way to install mods for KSP

Does anyone know if its possible to edit the max FOV in the cfg files of this mod? the zomed in look fits the docking cam aesthetic, but the onboard camera part could be useful too as a gopro if i could make it wide angle

I don't know, but I use Hullcam VDS Continued in addition to this mod, and it has a few gopro knockoffs, one is a super wide.

Hi. @linuxgurugamer  Do you think it would be possible to add in functionality to rotate the view of the camera to compensate for an incorrect docking port (rotational) alignment?  I'm having HUGE issues with docking ports and getting the up /down, left/right to match up with ship and camera. If a port was out of rotational alignment, a fix in this camera mod would help immensely. Thanks.
