This is like, my second time posting anything, so here goes:

This is my submission for this challenge: 

I go pretty fast, specifically 2,148m/s. By not using one giant fairing, I reduced the total heat felt by each individual fairing. (at least, I think?)
Zero part clipping was used. Only mods are visual/informational. Single stage, too.

I'm surprised that it didn't catastrophically fail earlier, with those big red gauges.

Here is mine. I recycled a plane I used in my own challenge from a while back ago. 

The original plane was 2 panther(great acceleration) and 2 whiplashes, with drag chutes and airbrakes. I got rid off all the extras and replaced the Panthers with another set of whiplashes.  The hardest part was keeping it under 600m, so I think for this run I am about 1680 or so. It will go over 1700, but I was just above the 600 limit when I hit that

Safely landed back at KSC.

The plane is named Shirley, after Shirley Muldowney, the great drag racer.
