Using Gravity cheat to enjoy RSS instead if RO?

I'm trying to play the game with real solar system - without RO (for now) - with career - and with a few of the historic ships that have been created for early Soviet and US space programs. That's a lot but there ya go. My problem is that I struggle to get these historic ships into orbit as they are a bit undersized for RSS.

 

Would the built in gravity cheat work for me to accomplish this setup? Also does the gravity cheat universal or does it just change the gravity of Earth? Thanks and please don't yell at me for cheating.

You probably want to try a mod called SMURFF.

Honestly if you're not wanting to play with RO, I'd recommend going for Stock Size Real Solar System. A lot of the same visual goodness without all the difficulty.

Tried that but it seems to be out of date and I couldn't get it to run.  Gravity cheat seems fine so far.

If you follow install instructions it most certainly should work.

Spent all night trying to install KSRSS with no luck.  I have a fresh version of KSP 1.7.2 installed but can't for the life of me figure out which version of Kopernicus is compatible.  I assume that I cannot use CKAN to install KSRSS?

I'd recommend making a new install with 1.7.3.

Where do I find 1.7.3?!  Steam only  goes up to 1.7.2 eh?

The Betas tab only goes to 1.7.2, because 1.7.3 is the released version. Just stop using the betas
