Can you plant flags on asteroids?

Recommended Posts

I finally grabbed a class D and a tiny class A asteroid (with purple streaks!) for the good of Kerbalkind.

And I tried to EVA to get my engineer kerbal to try planting a flag on the class A, but she looked terrified and spun out of control into space before I could — either the game glitched or she freaked out on EVA, and I couldn't control her like you would expect. Odd.

So... can you plant flags on them? I suspect you can't plant flags on bodies that aren't named, but the wiki doesn't say.

Edit: I kind of expected something a little bigger...

But please note that when you are EVA'd close to the asteroid you can take an Asteroid Sample that's worth a lot of science.

Thanks! I totally forgot about that. I had to click on the D asteroid itself to get the sample, once Bob was on EVA near it. Big chunk of Science. I'm curious to see if the special/purple-veined A asteroid has more science points.

One change I would like to see to the game: we can still collect science, but once the tech tree is completed, the only point to getting science points is entirely self-driven (and pointless, heh) or simply received when completing contracts...

Well, once the tech tree is completed you can use a strategy in the Admin building to convert all your science points into money. Not that you usually need money once you've completed the tech tree either ....

Really, once you've completed the tech tree, you've "won" the game. ;)
