ksp nuclear engines orbit problem

From the way you're starting your burn halfway around the planet, I assume your TWR is extremely low... probably so low that you won't be able to do it in one burn.

Start your transfer from a higher orbit, split it up into multiple burns by "Pe Kicking" as described here & here, or improve craft TWR. Starting a burn that far from the node is so inefficient as to become counterproductive.

Hmmmm... I would say: do Pe kicking and improve TWR. (Or improve TWR enough so that you don't need Pe kicking anymore.)

Another issue that I see is that you use the regular Lf and Ox tanks together with the nuclear engine that burns only Lf. I can understand that you would want to keep the big Rockomax tank for aesthetic reasons, but at the very least you should drain the oxidizer from that if you haven't done that already. And I don't see a good reason to use the FL-T800 tanks, replace them with the Mk1 Liquid Fuel Fuselage.

Huh, so they are. I've been using a fuel switcher so long it didn't even occur to me.
