what is the file type of KSP

I want to download KSP on my computer but it has admin restrictions on it, so, I was wondering what the file type is for KSP. is it a zipped folder with an exe and data in it or an exe installer or other things. I can run some exe's and other files and zip/exe's. I just don't want to spend $30 on a game I can't play

Are you using Steam or GoG? On Steam, the download and install process is seamless and it uses its own protocol.

On GoG it's a big zip file, but GoG also handle things itself.

Both intall things inside your home directory, so no admin rights needed.

I don't know about the KSP Store, however.

The KSP store provides a single zip for the game and a separate zip for each of the DLCs.
