Refocus Active Vessel 1.11

Hey there

I have noticed that none of the solutions to the question "How to do I refocus active vessel" seem to work in 1.11. I haven't played or been active with KSP for a long time (so long my account seemed to have been deleted. Hence the new one), but still this is kind of a critical feature. Here is what I have tried:

• Double clicking vessel - Works on everything but active vessel
• Backspace - Nothing happens. According to my settings.cfg it is used for Abort Action group
• "~" - Nothing happens. Not listed at all in my settings.cfg

I have tried to find the setting itself, both in game and in the settings.cfg to no avail. Anyone know how this works nowadays?

It's tilde. I use it all the time.

You are correct about it not being in the settings.cfg which is weird because I distinctly remember when it changed from backspace to ~ and I *thought* I also distinctly remembered changing the config back to backspace because that's what I was used to. Since then, though, I've relearned tilde and not thought about it for years.

Until now, when I find that not one single settings.cfg file I've got on me mentions "tilde" or "~" or returning focus in map mode to the current vessel.

It depends on your keyboard layout plus the key binding settings in KSP. For instance, on my German (QWERTZ) keyboard it's the ^ key, and in the settings.cfg  it reads

CAMERA_RESET
{
    primary = Backslash

And for a Swiss German keyboard, it's different again, § key.

Oh jeez of course. It's not tilde. It's "backquote" because tilde is shift-backquote.

Here's the my config setting for it, which I think is stock:

CAMERA_RESET
{
	primary = BackQuote
	secondary = None
	group = 0
	modeMask = -1
	modeMaskSec = -1
}

For me, tilde is "ALT GR" - "+"  
 

Perfect example of different kb layouts, isn't it?

Ahh so thats what its called. Thanks a lot for clearing that up  It is indeed "BackQuote" for me as well, however using a nordic keyboard layout, I have no idea how to actually use this, since any key that requires "SHIFT", "CTRL" or "ALT" doesn't seem to work at all. Guess I'll have to remap it.

Thanks for bringing this up. I was also used to backspace and wondering why that doesn't work, since 1.11 is the first version I gave a real go, having my main career still in 1.3.1.

I also learned that tab cycles focus through celestial bodies and even maneuver nodes now. Shift-tab cylces backwards, but also throttles up thrusters... After all those years that's still a questionable keyboard layout 

And while we're at it.. I'm currently stuck to play on my notebook and didn't bother to plug in my mouse, so using touchpad. If I'm doing a zoom-gesture, it messes up the throttle as well, this time only ever throttling down, so it is safe to zoom when cut off
