how do i repair the big solar panels in 1.11?

how do i repair the big solar panels in 1.11? they need 4 repair kits but a kerbal can only hold 2 and i also would like to keep the jetpack and not float away into space

@minerbat you'll probably have to attach a ladder to your craft near the solar panel, grab onto it, put your Kerbal's jetpack away in a nearby container and then put the 4 repair kits in the Kerbal's inventory.

A Kerbal has only two inventory slots, yes. But some parts are stackable inside the same slot. That's why repair kits have this vertical bar once they are inside an inventory. It shows how many are stacked.

So you probably only need one of the two inventory slots the Kerbal has to transport four repair kits. I don't know the stack limit off the top of my head, but it's likely larger than 3.

I tested and Kerbals can indeed hold four repair kits alongside their jetpack:

So you won't need to remove the jetpack at all, you should have no problem repairing the panel.

that worked. thank you. but now my parachute has glitched out when i tried to put it in the storage unit and it has dissapeared... it isn't in the storage container nor the kerbals inventory?

If you have a recent quicksave, try reverting to that.

it isn't a problem as i was just experimenting with the new 1.11 mechanics and not on an actual mission, but it is just weird. don't have a quicksave though.

Yeah, 1.11 is a little buggy. Hopefully a bugfix patch comes soon.
