Why do my engines randomly stop working?

Hi!

So while playing around in 0.17, I'm trying to establish a kind of base on Duna. Fly single-man landers there, then leave them there and pick everyone up in a larger ship that has a Crewtank on it. I've been working on this larger ship (the Legionary) for a couple days, and it's a behemoth with 378 parts at 420 tons on the pad. It *should* work, I've ironed out all the bugs except one. My engines sometimes decide to randomly not work. They have fuel. They're still attached, nothing broke off. In fact, they display the graphics as if they work (plume of fire). But they don't respond to throttle and produce no thrust, either on Mechjeb's readouts or empirically. Also, if I decouple them they still look like they're firing, complete with sound. Why does this happen? It doesn't happen always, just sometimes, and it's really messing up my rocket- especially when in a cluster of five rockets, only four work and I start spinning wildly out of control.

Thanks!

...378 parts? O.o As soon as I get past 240 things tend to start exploding on the pad (meaning KSP is dropping strut calculations immediately in a desperate, failed attempt to save itself from laggy doom)...and I'm using an i7. O.o

There's a limit? That would explain why my ship randomly fell apart today after I added some SRBs. I hope they'll let you toggle the max in the future (low, medium, high, ultra, unlimited, etc.)

I'm talking about a rocket in space.

Cool, But i need this fixed so it doesn't happen in the future. this glitch happens in worst possible times, when i'm in a half orbit around kerbin.

Yep. I have tried that.

You realize this was a necro thread ? from 3 years ago?
