If I get around to doing it, I want to recreate Venera-13, the most successful Soviet Venus lander. Challenge is that it landed on Venus without a parachute (it used a parachute to slow down in the upper atmosphere but discarded it at altitude and touched down at terminal velocity) and I haven't succeeded in repicating that on Eve. One problem is that Eve's atmosphere is a lot thinner (that feels weird, calling Eve's atmosphere "thin") than Venus', so terminal velocity is a lot higher. Cobbling together a launch vehicle (Proton) should not be a problem.

You could slightly abuse KSP's simplified aero model by clipping a bunch of extra draggy parts (like sideways fins) inside your probe. Maybe even use them as structural / decorative elements.

Thanks for the advice, that's one thing I am definitely going to try. I don't normally like to abuse the physics system like that, but in this case the ends justify the means.
