Build the biggest number!

Hyperspace Industries

Recommended Posts

We shall start with a number seed (say, 314) then the next post must add some sort of equation to it (say, 314 x 2) and the next a new equation to that (314 x 2 +1) and so we continue for about ten posts, on the final post we note that number (I will edit it into this post as the current record) and that post gives a new seed.

Rules:

1 No repeated equations in a set of ten posts, For example if someone uses multiplication, nobody can use it until a new set.

2 Everything must be mathematical, no saying something like, 314 + the biggest number possible in a post.

3 Infinity is totally banned from use.

4 No decreasing the number or making it stay the same.

5 All seed numbers must be between 1 and 100

6 It must stay an equation the whole time, this is for your own safety, since we will definitely be getting things like TREE:(100)

7 Brackets can be used along with other things, but must cover the entire previous equation: (2x39)! Is allowed, but (2x3)9! Is Not!

8 No posting after your own post, somebody else has to post first.

9 Be creative, don’t just increase the numbers from the previous ten posts.

10 Follow the general forum rules.

Lets go!

Seed = 42

Is that 42 to the power of 1000 or multiplied by 1000?

It is 42 multiplied by 1000. We in Finland use a dot as the multiplying mark.

And also, a previous commenter said this.

42000 + graham’s number

Since just saying "Graham's number" is not exactly saying a number and according to my knowledge we do not know exactly what said number is. I do not know how to behave, but as in another forum game i will skip @AlamoVampire's post and everything after it. I hope nobody is insulted.

So, we were left at...

42 times 1000

Theoretical numbers such as g64 (grahams number) or TREE:(3) (an even bigger number) are allowed, and even encouraged, as long as we have a general understanding of their size. :) We don't need to know exactly what they are, since we cannot store them. Basically if it is on numberphile (a youtube channel about numbers) it counts, If it is an obscure number that is not there, wikipedia, otherwise we need a source. :) :D
