Faraon2134
I AM BACK! Now with more motivation (it's hard to don't have more since last time all i did was just make kerbol a black hole...) I am ready to make this project reality. Yea... I burnt out, I had huge idea but didn't entirely knew how to do them... So welcome back to... Faraon's Planet Pack (FPP) will make KSP experience more interesting! Contains 100+ solar systems, some with planets in it, creating huge, exciting galaxy - Kirbel. Mod is hand-crafted by single people, who is mega noob in planet modding, BUT know how to do it Idea contain huge galaxy, with 96 stars, 3 neutron stars and 2 black holes. Planet pack add one additional, small nebula with 9 systems In development for now. Galaxy map under spoiler. PS: If you think you could give me nice positions of stars write to me on Discord: Faraonxd#2946 and probably you will be part of this huge project Spoiler https://imgur.com/a/96GJt7b Edited February 18, 2024 by Faraon2134 Coming Back

Gargamel
@Faraon2134, until you have an actual mod to release, we'll just move this thread over to add-on development. Good luck.
Cyrus Playz
THis seems really ambitious, I hope you know what you're getting yourself into chief
Faraon2134
Idk what you guys think about it, but how about adding some lore? What I mean is that there's some kind of progression throught majority of the galaxy? spacegamer7
all great mods start from an ambitious beginning, as seen with KSS 1 and 2 EDIT: i should probably mention KSS1 started as a remake of the base kerbol system, but ended up turning into that unorganized resource heavy mess. Pipirus
How is the work going? Are you in burnout or do you have some screenshots / teasers that we could see? Rooting for you!
Quinby Kerman
May I suggest that you create a smaller planet pack? Like 45 star systems instead of 96? Nobody wants a bunch of duplicate systems that provide no challenge and clutter up memory? Also, a system that's just a butt-ton of stars orbiting each other. Planet pack add one additional, small nebula with 9 systems I like the idea of a galaxy mod, but I think that you'll need to prioritise certain aspects. I'd suggest first adding the supermassive black hole (every star is going to orbit it in a galaxy), then add the stars, ideally one of each type/spectral class/whatever way of classifying them, so that you can get an idea of what each one is in terms of size, textures, ect. Then add the planets. Do research on what planets are most common, how start type and metallicity influence planets and their formation, ect. If we want players to visit systems, they all should be unique in some way. Have one system of a proto star, have a close orbiting binary star system, a Thorne-Zytkow Object - This principle also applies to planets. I think that (at least initially) the number of stars should be scaled back. - Too much to work on can be quite daunting. Don't be ashamed to take breaks from development too; you'll have to if you want to avoid burnout. Hope this advice helps. 4 hours ago, Quinby Kerman said: May I suggest that you create a smaller planet pack? Like 45 star systems instead of 96? A possible way to downsize would be to have each system reside as a folder, inside a folder where all the systems are contained, and the player can choose which systems they have installed -- A similar approach as to Kerbal Star Systems

Yeah it would make the development easier, and it also would get you an idea of the project that you're making. I think stopping before adding planets would be beneficial, so you can get a better view of your project. @Faraon2134 pls listen to the feedback we're giving you, so you won't go in burnout. Also, if you need to take breaks, don't feel bad about it. Every dev needs one once in a while! Hope to hear from you soon, you haven't responded in the forum since february of last year....
