Updated to 1.0.1 on 9/9/22 to add a symmetrical deck with nose ramp for use with Heisenberg Airships.

Hi and welcome to S.A.C.D, Stockalike Aircraft Carrier Decks.

A simple mod that contains 6 carrier decks and one generic hull.

I have noticed that many people still like to build their own sea craft from stock components but that the part count can get quite high. This is a small mod to try to help them reduce their part count.

They are purely structural, they can float on their own if you like but are designed to be built off.

The generic hull is for those who don't have the patience to carefully put together 50 plus cargo bays to create their own.

I have tested landing and taking off using the stock Aeris plane with no dramas and I have landed 96 tonnes with no problems.

When using the Generic Hull please remember to Autostrut to heaviest part and set to rigid, otherwise it tends to dance around a bit.

Each deck has 5 nodes along the bottom and 15 nodes along the top as well as the ability to be attached to fuselage.

If you have the "Community Category Kit" installed you will have a new category in the parts list, otherwise they are in structural.

Hope you find these useful.

could there be a possibility of a symmetrical one in the future?

They are based on real carrier shapes. But let me know what shape you want and I will knock one up for you.

Now we need a mod SACDD: Stockalike Aircraft Carrier Deck Decals to eliminate the need of covering the whole deck with stock decals to make runway markings. :)

P.S. I should combine this with Heisenberg airships to make a huge sky pirates base.

hmm. maybe one with rectangular edges, but with a HMS Elizabeth style ski-jump on the end?

i mainly want this to slap on top of a heisenberg airship to lower part counts(it also helps out my crappy little macbook a ton)

So something like my thinnest width variant, just a a rectangle, with a ramp at the end do you?

I know this thread is old, but I would like to know if an island was ever planned to be added.

Had no plans to. This was just to help those who liked to make their carriers out of stock parts, so they could lower their parts count. Usually people would make the islands out of fuselage and Mk2 Lander Cans.

Their are a few carrier mods already out there, and I should have a Nimitz style carrier out in the next months. But if you want an Island in one piece without having to build it you should download the mod Carrier Vessel Expansion, as the Island is a separate piece in that mod, that you could add to your deck.

Ah, makes sense.

I'm going to make a carrier mod but I'm a novice at modeling. That said, I really like the textures, decks, and hull this mod provides (minus the lack of elevators and hangar space) and I was wondering if you could guide me. I don't plan on just having a hull and a deck, but an island, engine, and rudder as well as some parts for an LCM for a well deck I plan on incorporating into the hull model.

Guide you in what way?

This mod is designed to just lower part count for those who like to make carriers from completely stock parts.

Here, this might help you more. I will give you a link to a members KerbalX, who is very good at making stock ships and carriers. Their craft might help give ideas and help you work out good ways of making things using stock parts.

If you are instead looking at starting to 3d model a parts pack then you might want to look at my thread on using the .mu plugin in a blender environment. To get you started.

I actually have a Nimitz type carrier 90% done that should be out by the end of the year. I have several different mods in the works and they keep swapping first place depending on my mood.

Modeling is what I needed some guidance in, I’ll take a look at the latter. I just can’t seem to make or texture a hull suitable for my WIP mod. I’m mostly focused on creating a LHD and some form of landing craft (currently have my eye on a LCM, this may change) rather than an actual carrier, though, for amphibious operations.
