Colony Modpacks

There are a few colony and station mods I would recommend.
Buffalo 2 for MSEV and station parts:

Pathfinder for inflatable colony modules:

Planeside for a more realistic MSEV and surface base parts:

and for better station parts there's stockalike station parts redux:

I completely forgot habtech2 for ISS parts.

I've had problems with BF2 and pathfinder due to the pure fact I have no clue how to get it working., Will be sure to try out the others mods, though.

Inside gamedata folder there is a folder called "Wildblueindustries" all WBI mods go in there. You don't need a major modpack.

"Folder"? Is there a major modpack for WBI? I only see the separate "gamedata" folders for the WBI mods.

@MacintoshKSP Can you elaborate on what colony features you want? Do you play with life support? I generally don't use life support so my use of parts like greenhouses is limited to being another science experiment; I don't know the food production mechanics.

My favorite mod for surface colonies is Kerbal Planetary Base Systems. Assembly is very easy with KPBS' powered wheels that can be retracted (or jettisoned) after each base module docks.

For orbital colonies, Stockalike Station Parts Expanded Redux SSPXr is my go-to mod. There's already a link to it above.

Some rocket-centric mods also add stations parts. Look at Bluedog Design Bureau, Tantares, and Knes for USA, Soviet, and European station parts. They each have their own art styles but look okay connected to SSPXr parts.

Kerbal Attachment System KAS is very helpful for surface bases. Precise surface docking to refuel crew transports and ore freighters can be a pain. KAS hoses let you land near the base and temporarily attach a fuel line.

I just use Habtech 2 for all my station parts...

SSPX is too heavy:(

What do you mean by "heavy": memory use or the mass of parts?

I'm curious because I usually use SSPXr for orbital stations and have never tried Habtech 2.

I don't use LS, no. I mainly play around with constructing things in the VAB/SPH and orbiting them from there. KPBS has been giving me trouble for the pure fact none of its parts will show up. It's gotten on my nerves and I can't seem to find a viable fix that's not CKAN (which i'm not using because i'm on macos). But it's mainly orbital, temporary, and perm encampments both in the Kerbin polar regions and on other planets.
