:D I jest, on the left we have the correct notation of m/s in lower case for metres per second but the incorrect notation of KM in upper case for kilometres. Might be worth unifying all unit cases to be in correct notation.

In my understanding, (I think there are some specs for this, just don't remember where) KM in that case it is because the distance is 100.000 km. So if you are compreesing the thousands, you use all uppercases.

100,000 km should be 100 Mm, though. Capitalizing K or M is nonstandard and makes it look like, idk, Kelvin-Megas

While we're on the subject of pedantry, I would like to request that any in-game mention of "kilometers" be pronounced as "KILL-oh-meters", because that pronunciation is consistent with other kilo- units. "KILL-oh-grams", "KILL-oh-liters", "KILL-oh-kelvins", etc. When people pronounce it as "kill-LAH-meters", it makes it sound like a gauge that measures kills. As in, "ther-MAH-meter", "bar-AH-meter", "hy-GRAH-meter", etc.

It's Kilometres. And kill-la-metres is fine. It's like toron-no. Or for the sake brevity klicks. Hi form Canada.  /s

Yep. Using capitals or lower case is well defined for SI units. It is lower case k for kilo and lower case m for meters, while a capital M stands for Mega etc. It would be nice if KSP would do something here to educate players or at least not confuse them if they know their SIs :D  (I mean, it is something that quite a lot of time is actually spent on in schools...)

One could also include the scientific/engineering way of writing  10^3m .

Education and learning aren't a bad thing.
