Mission recorder confirmed? no, it was just for time sake to not make a long video.. not a mission recorder, but if anything it could have been "zoom under power" or whatever, being able to use timewarp under throttle. Yeah, we know that the early versions really struggled with framerate. They absolutely could not have had a live fast-forward in the version of the game they were showing at Pax West 2019. This fast-forwarding was done in post, and the "FF>>" label and the little VCR-style skip lines were clearly added after the capture. This is just video editing and nothing to do with gameplay.
