How to properly make a real solar system

Hi, I'm quite a beginner (my best feat is an unmanned mission to Mun). I installed some mods (Near Future Technologies, Kerbalism, Infernal Robotics, Stockalike Station Parts Redux and a few graphics mods) and they work pretty well for me, everything looks realistic. I would still like to fly in a real solar system, but I don't know how to do it. I know there are mods for this, but I'm kind of lost. The Kerbol system is terribly undersized compared to the solar system, and the parts are underpowered. How is it supposed to make it work with a real system and what mods should I install on it? I would like the numbers to be the same as in reality.
Thanks

(sorry if I'm breaking any rules, I'm new here)

If all you've done is send a probe to the Mun, I strongly suggest you don't dive into heavy modding just yet. There are a lot of things that you still need to learn and an entire solar system for you to explore, which the stock parts are more than capable of doing; adding a load of mods will just fill up the parts list. Adding more planets when you haven't ventured outside Kerbin's gravity well isn't worth it

If you really want to add more parts, Restock+ is a good place to start as it fills in some gaps in the stock part lineup as well as duplicating nearly all the extra (rocket) parts from the DLCs if you don't have those. The Near Future mods are good, but the parts list can quickly balloon out of control if you add them all.

When I first started playing KSP I went headlong into modding very quickly and ended up with an unwieldy mess, once had to leave the game running for twelve hours for a transfer burn to OPM Neidon due to extreme lag from a high part count on top of a near three hour long burn, broke the save a couple of times and eventually had to abandon it altogether as a combination of KSP updates and me realising that maybe throwing every mod I liked the look of into an already creaking install wasn't the best idea ever. Nowadays I'm a lot more picky about what mods I use and sometimes I'll remove some "good" mods because I don't absolutely need them.

Real Earth is over ten times larger than Kerbin and orbital velocity is about 7800m/s compared to Kerbin's ~2200m/s. Stock parts just won't cut it there unless you use a mod like SMURFF that rebalances their stats, or you could use Realism Overhaul which recreates real rocket engines etc. but also features many of the challenges that real rockets face- ullaging, fuel mixtures, engine failures, life support, performance variance and more- so isn't something that's beginner friendly. There are plenty of stock scale planet packs around plus some larger but not real scale like JNSQ (2.7x stock scale) which for me was a good stepping stone towards RSS after first trying to jump straight from stock to real scale and hating it.

Ok, I'd just like to try it, if it doesn't work I'll put it away and come back later. So if I understand correctly, the RSS gives the actual numbers, but I won't be able to use the stock parts anymore, so I'll need some extra mods?

Yes, but we would advise you against this if you don't have any experience with anything.

It's also worth saying that you can't jump into these things straight away without seeing significant roadblocks. You had to go through primary school before you could start with high school, you had to start with 1+1 before you could move onto algebra, etc. If you don't put some time into stock KSP so you can get your head around how orbits behave in the first place, you're going to have some trouble concerning yourself with things like limited ignitions, fuel boiloff n stability, life support, etc.

RSS makes orbiting hard, so you need RO

BTW Kerwis Chinese aerospace pack is nice.

Yes, stock parts don't work in Real Solar System (if you want a comparision, RSS Earth is the size of stock Jool). You will need the companion Realism Overhaul mod. The career mode for Realism Overhaul-RSS is RP-1, a separate mod as well.  You can get the whole package using CKAN from here:
