Ejected faring - shoots off like paper from a straw, then 90 degree turn to dive into the planet

Laughing too hard to record it... But as the description the dang Thang had a mind of its own. 

First thought was 'that's a disappointing animation' (faring shooting off like straw blown paper)... But the 90 degree turn and acceleration into the atmosphere was the kicker.
