Editor low frame rate, lag, memory leak(?) only with stock LV-N engine

Recommended Posts

It might be related to a mod, but is definitely related to the Nerv engine.

After it is attached to the craft, any time I am attaching an in-line part further down the craft, the node to attach to on the craft slow blinks in/out of existence and I must click at just the right time to get an attach.  All operations in the editor slow down with periodic, but short, stretches of normal performance once the LV-N is part of the craft.

All this happens with no unusual or error log messages.

I have theories that something about the LF only fuel is making either the stock or KER DV calcs hit a corner case in the code that is not performant, has a memory leak, or similar.

Finally, free memory does seem to shrink at a quicker rate once the Nerv is attached, but nothing tested rigorously at this point.

I'm mostly curious if others have experienced editor issues only when using the Nerv or if it is a known issue in KSP1 or with certain mods

Sounds like a PartModule throwing Exceptions on the Update or FixedUpdate.

Reproduce the problem, quit KSP and publish the KSP.log .

But there is nothing in the logs at times of behavior.  Maybe something earlier in the logs is giving a clue.  I'll look closer

Check also the files on the Logs subdirectory.

Some authors are logging their stuff only there, and this makes things harder to diagnose.  :/
