2 Videos for this Bug Report:

  • First video shows it happening in space
  • Second video shows COM appears to be calculating between the two separated crafts soon after launch.

First Video:

Spoiler

https://youtu.be/-wr0cShyia4 (19 Seconds)

Things of note:

  • Loss of control
  • Camera isn't focused on either craft
  • After separation the throttle still affects both crafts
  • Both crafts phase through each other
  • Similar result for 0.1.0.0 + 0.1.1.0 + 0.1.2.0

How to Replicate:

  1. Load supplied 0100RootPartSecondTank
  2. Load 0100RootPartSecondTank again (Counters another bug)
  3. Give a small amount of thrust to match the video
  4. Stage
  5. Play around with the throttle

Second Video:

One thing of Note:
It appears that in this case the Camera is focusing on the Center of Mass of both crafts

Work Around:

  • Jettison the Engine Plate's fairing/shroud However SAS is not engaged anymore.
  • Change root part to the top of the craft.
