how do you move the cross hair? in the picture it is on the centre of kerbin but my one will only appear on the current vessel? Ideally I need it on kerbol so i can actually line up the transfer windows

Click the "focus" option on the desired body and it will move to the centre of the screen

Doesn't work for larger monitors; it shows the protractor off-center.
