Recovering a vessel from the tracking station does not delete its icon, resulting in a crash when switching to it since it does not physically exist

Reported Version: v0.2.1 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes
OS: Windows 11 Home | CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU Driver version: 31.0.15.5123 | RAM16.0 GB

Fresh campaign of For Science, booted game and immediately went to VAB. Created craft with base parts, order Command Pod-2 Larger methalox tanks-engine-coupler-3 tanks- quad of 3 surrounding tanks with engines attached to each. To collect science, took craft to launchpad with intent to collect surface science - did not launch craft whatsoever, instead took crew report, went EVA, and collected surface samples and EVA report. In ESC menu, selected "recover craft" while still EVA, and when going back to tracking station craft was supposedly still there - selected "recover craft" in tracking station to no avail. Then clicked "fly craft" out of curiosity and got stuck on loading screen, prompting a force close of game.

It seems that the vessel is correctly recovered, the issue is that the vessel's icon in the tracking station is not properly deleted afterwards, which results in a vessel icon that points to a non-existent vessel, leaving and then re-entering the tracking station correctly deletes the icon, the crash occurs due to the game trying to switch focus to a non-existent vessel.
