TMA-3 was the third monolith (the one found orbiting Jupiter) in the "2001: A Space Odyssey" series, in 2010. TMA -> Tycho Magnetic Anomaly, after the fact that the first monolith was highly magnetized is what led to its discovery buried on the surface of the Moon in the first place. Tex_NL
If you say so. But it doesn't exactly look like a monolith now does it? In case you actually do think it looks like a monolith I would like to suggest a visit to your local optician.

Hmmm, on one hand it is hexacore probe with two elevons and radial chute(?)... On second look it is just a debris, as it has no antenna, no battery, no pv panels. Frankly it is both. (a cube sat recreation?) However, the overal silhuete... it almost ring a bell, but despite "i know it" - I have no idea. It somehow resembles an electricity symbol (flash) or an 'S' shaped in style of infamous ww2 german elite units symbol... I give up :-)

A cookie for the both of you. It's the Kataan probe from StarTrek TNG (The Inner Light, S5E25) It is indeed the one that gave Picard the Ressikan memories and the flute. Some time ago I randomly ran into an image of it and instantly knew it would not be hard to recreate it.
