Postcards from Laythe - Cancelled indefinately

As someone who read way too much in pretty much every category, I have to agree. There's the initial vertigo of being thrown off a cliff of new information, followed by a wonderful period where the world feels more like reading a documentary than anything. Plus, you don't have to write awkward bits introducing things.

I'd recommend keeping a codex of stuff that no amount of context can tell us. Background stuff primarily. Also: Descriptions! I always get yelled at about not being descriptive enough in my writing. Especially character descriptions. Although the whole prosthetic things was very nicely done. Made it seem like nothing terribly special. "Yeah, she's missing a leg. So?" kinda feel.

And I'm rambling. Anyway, great job so far! Looking forward to more.

About the codex - yeah, probably should have posted those first. I just wanted to get this scene done and out of my head. Fear not, such a thing exists.

I always worry about writing descriptions. Seems like I either have none at all or WAAAAY too much. I'll work on that.

Nice. I can already see the character background building. Is col = colonel? Abbreviations best avoided.

Me likes. :)

Whoops, thought I caught all those. Dirty little secret? I can never spell colonel right on the first try, and trying too hard makes me lose my train of thought. I have the same problem with lieutenant.

Keeping to the german theme though, you should almost call it Leftenet. I've heard it called that a few times when said by people with a german accent.

Loving the teaser so far though.

The reason why it wouldn't make sense for kerbals to have either one or the other gender: Most flowers (plants have flowers) are both male and female.

Why it would be important: It would make the storyline of PfL more fun (I suppose.)

I seriously would like to know where this silly "Kerbals are plants" idea got started in the first place.

On topic: Any plans for showing off a Silbervogel-derived craft in the near future?

Likely because they are green, a sign that they would have chloroplast in them as the chlorophyll in them which makes them green. Also, what would they evolved from? There are only grass and trees on Kerbin.

Sibervogel or A4 derived launcher. That would be amazing!

So all green things are plants, eh? I guess the government has been lying to us about yet another thing, and all those street signs just sprouted on their own.

Only living things, so those signs haven't sprouted, at least, not if their metal. Has your government been producing plants to make signs?

How about praying mantises, then? Or alligators? Are those moving plants, too?

The point I am trying to make is that just because something is not shown does not mean it is not there at all. I don't think that Kerbals are any more walking plants than that I am an actual Chinese terra cotta soldier. Plus, I think I recall someone mentioning a developer stating that Kerbals are most definitely not plants.

They might be both? They could have the chloroplast in their cells to produce glucose yet are animals? It would explain why they can survive so long, they are their own life support, as long as they are exposed to a light source.

Shame, we will then have to eventually take care to provide our Kerbals with oxygen, water and food instead of just sticking them in a capsule and using Kerbol to feed them.

Or maybe life support is currently one of those things that just "happen in the background". :P

Perhaps as a future expansion? Or for the harder difficulties? Such as Realism mode?

Nevermind, I just saw that Satcharna had covered the photosynthesis thing already. But real life support would be a cool feature, yes. :)

I read a theory somewhere that Kerbals are actually a sentient fungi and that their goal is to explode so that they can spread their spores to reproduce.

I think that's a nicer theory than the *shudder* alternative.

"OH JEB! I WANT YOUR POLLEN ALL OVER ME!"

I think we're getting just a hair off-topic, though.

So to put us back on topic: What sort of vehicle would everyone like to see chobit eventually do? (I already mentioned the Silbervogel.)

I'll eventually be drawing a full inventory of VSA vehicles and designs, probably as part of the "Making of PfL" documentary

Jeb would be the one receiving his own pollen.

I want this NOW!!!
