Help please my eva chair is cursed and I am going insane

Recommended Posts

I have a space station and an attached lander in jool orbit with a service bay with eva chairs in it as a command module. however, I cannot get kerbals in them because the option to board the chair doesn't appear even when the kerbal in question is right next to the chair. I then proceeded to test the SAME lander in another game, and it worked just fine. I tried using different kerbals, detaching it from the station, making its probe core or the chair itself control the entire station before detaching, Nothing works.

EDIT: here is an imgur link to an image of my kerbal next to the chair with the menu open, but with no option to board it https://imgur.com/a/pCpspbL

Idk why. but the insert image from URL input rejected the link, so I have copied the link below.

this is a photo of a lander docked with a mining portion of a station attached to a class d asteroid, along with a separate lab segment attached to said asteroid, although I don't see how that could cause problems

Can you try moving the chairs farther away from other parts? Sometimes one part is blocking another even though the visual models don't show an overlap. I wonder if head room over the chairs might be an issue as well?

I suggest to create a new sandbox savegame, copy the craft file into it and cheat it into Kerbin Low Orbit.

Then go back to the VAB, launch a crew capsule (with crew! :P ), cheat it to rendezvous with the problematic craft and start doing tests from there, preserving your main savegame from mishaps.

on this test savegame, you can destroy the craft and cheat new versions of it into orbit unchecked. This will make way easier to diagnose the problem!
