Both look great! Where did you stick the SAS units?

both have them as part of the chasis at wheel level. just thicker bottomed than most rovers. sas is so useful on a rover since they ALL flip, but other reflipping methods ive tried like rockets (runs out of fuel) and lander legs (looks dumb a lot of the time) have drawbacks. plus it keeps them stable when hovering or moving quickly.

I was bored with regular four-wheel-rovers, so I've cut one in half:

It's called the Easy Rocket Rider MkI.

Against my expectations it actually works fairly well and is a lot of fun to drive. The rocket engines are primarily intended to accelerate up to 60 m/s, but they can also be used to fly the bike for a short distance (it has about 1100 m/s of delta-V with two Kerbals on board). The "kickstand" can be used to absorb the shock during landing, as seen in this picture:

Driving it is somewhat... adventurous, but it can be done with a little practice. I highly recommend to separate the controls for throttle from the standard WASD configuration, otherwise the w and s keys will not only control throttle but also the SAS. Personally I have set the rover controls to the arrow keys on the numpad, which works great in my opinion, for all rovers.

Nice bike here. Now stable and controllable it is? Ho easy to turn it? At which speed when you turn it start to scratch ground and disinegrates?

I've built two-wheeled rover too, but it looked more like Segway than like motorcycle.

It doesn't, actually, if you're careful with the SAS controls - as long as you keep it more or less vertical (leaning less than, say, 30-40° in either direction) it won't touch the ground, no matter how fast you're going. However, the wheels start breaking at 60 m/s so that's the limit for driving on the ground. If you want to go faster, just take off with the rocket engines.

my first rover. decided to skip the mun and minmus and go straight to duna. thanks to realchute, it make a really slow descent on chutes only. no retros needed beyond de-orbiting. in

fact, if I try to retroburn, it lifts off. probably due to the 12:1 TWR.

My latest land vehicle, the "Eve Exploiter". It's a Kethane extractor/refinery on wheels, which I used to fuel up my Kethane-powered Eve Glider. Total overkill, but that's the fun of it!

Ummm...

Your Cornercutter has been compiled with Witch.craft v1.9. It's possessed!!

I added a docking port, some lights and a few other things to the "cockpit" for use as a mobile science platform, then slapped on a few struts to make it more trustworthy on the ground while at speed.

Then I slapped the bugger into the latest IPEV vessel, and this happened:

It continued spazzing out like that until it finally dropped into the sea.

My latest project. It's a bit too heavy for these wheels, resulting in a few busted tires if you don't drive carefully (which I don't seem to be doing in this picture, judging from the front right wheel...). But it works.
