Yeah, no worries. You'll need to look into how to set it up - I don't run Linux so I don't know the steps. Unity running OpenGL is just not up to the task - not to mention all 3 operating systems run different versions of OpenGL which makes it an absolute nightmare to debug. While I support it, and have actively pushed to try and support it fully, there are always things that slip through the cracks. It's just not very good these days and Unity on top of all of that creates an unstable mix. Where you can, run under DX11

I am running it on Linux (Mint) entirely through OpenGL (no Proton or other emulation layer), and it runs perfectly smoothly. It does take an extra moment to load a new screen (compared to using Parallax 2), and you can see it processing the image for about a second just as it loads. But it really is only a moment, certainly not 20 seconds you describe. -Fizz 3 hours ago, nx.vash said: Any way to get this working with True volumetric clouds? I recall with it set to 8x my FPS would tank in some scenes about half the time. Just turn it off and use scatterer's / tufx's I can confirm, disabling AA and using Scatterer + TUFX has massively stabilised my FPS even with a bunch of other graphics mods running. Thanks for the suggestion

Apple dropped OpenGL support a long time ago so it can't use the features that Parallax takes advantage of for its performance. On Linux you can run Parallax natively but it's through an up to date version of OpenGL which nowadays is just slow and has some issues with KSP. So the solution is to force DirectX11 on Mac if you want to run the mod and Linux if you want better performance and visuals is a native linux version using vulkan possible? as in https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Startup_parameters , it says that both macos metal and vulkan are suported through a forced use. however vulkan is marked as experimental. DangerNoodle
Hi, I have two questions: - Is it possible to dial back the LoD ranges of the scatters somehow? I wanna improve performance a bit but not sacrifice too much on the scatter range. - The new scaled space textures are kinda performance intensive. In the tracking station, and while landing on celestial bodies with the camera in the scaled space range. Is there some way to decrease the performance cost of these, maybe by decreasing their resolution?

ngx
Hi, is there a way to hide/disable selected scatter using editor UI? There used to be 'Hide this scatter' button in previous version, currently there are only 'Previous Scatter' and 'Next Scatter' buttons. Thanks! I'm also interested in this, as I used to do it with Kerbal Konstructs adding a map decal, but now it doesn't work as it used to. It won't remove the scatters unless you enlarge the decal's area to +200 and the smoothness is inexistent, the line from the decal to normal terrain is too abrupt, so much that there's no textures in between and you can see through the surface. It was a useful way to create flat terrain for bases but now it's getting harder.
Krakenium
I have been experimenting a bit with my bug, and it seems to disappear when I toggle off "Use Advanced Blending" in the parallax settings.
