would be no need, you cant land on it, procedural method just offers detail without having huge textures

yes it is rather low res

sort of. the coverage/ density is image based. the clouds them selfs if i zoomed down are procedural

I don't think it's the resolution necessarily causing the problem, there is definitely some noise present.
