I found a cactus, and I think It's size scared bob a bit...:P

I found it when I crash landed, I thought it was grass until I saw how far it was away... once that realization struck I had to go over and see close up.

I did a quick search then remembered about the loss of everthing post October 2012. Has anyone seen these before?

Yes, they are one of the random surface features that appear when you have the "terrain scatter" option turned on, like trees, rocks, and grass patches. They were added in .17 (I think), but for some reason are MUCH less common in .19.

This proofs there is always something new to discover. I've never encountered cacti myself but I did see images of them before. Regular trees are common between 50 degree north/south but if you travel further north they are replaced by pine trees.

I am yet to see this great feature. After school I shall Design the MKI explorer, A three seater plane use to explore far off lands! It will stop at the desert, The pine trees, The trees, And the snow. We will also attempt to pick up the crew that landed in the mountains and are yet to be rescued. AND OFF I SAY!

I remember swerving to avoid a cactus while testing my high speed rover in the desert back in 0.17. I like to pretend they are solid; cactus-1, rover (and occupant) spread everywhere.

I've not been to the desert recently, but everywhere else there seems to have been some massive deforestation going on. Did a logging company move in with the 0.19 update? I hardly see any trees these days, I recently turned my scatter density up to see if that would bring them back but no. Occasionally I see them if I fly away from the lands around KSC and then fly back. Then sometimes they appear. I have tufts of grass and rocks, oh I have plenty of rocks, just no trees. I miss the trees (and cacti)!

I hadn't seen the trees or the pine trees before, it might be time for an expedition...:D
