He was the first, I believe, but R. Daneel Olivaw was the second, and he appeared in the later books. (Nice to meet another fan of Dr. A. )

Thanks all! Already well into modding with lots of parts customised, just trying to get a grip on modelling now - man Blender is a tough nut to crack.

Technically Herbie from I, Robot was the first Giskard was the first from the foundation series, then he passed the pattern for mind reading onto Daneel. And yes, that's where my name comes from I'm quite the fan of Asimov..

Little known fact: Asimov is one of a very few authors who have published works in every major Dewey-system category.

Welcome to the forums!

Always nice to see more fans of classic science fiction around. I read the Foundation trilogy back in my teens. Asimov's a good writer; I'll have to check out his Robots series some day. I've read a bit more of Clarke and Heinlein than him, so I'll have to make up for lost time.
