So there I was, looking at the planed features in the KSP Forums. I've heard rumors that the devs were going to remove the resources because people didn't like them. Flight Operations

Flag planting: Able to plant flags on other planets and moons[1][2]

Repairing: Ability to repair certain things.

Enhanced I.V.As (Moving and interacting inside of the Craft)

Crew Tasks: Have the crew take charge of controlling the ship (provided they can handle it)

More prebuilt ships, for tutorials or as examples

Space Center

Astronaut Complex : Hire and train kerbonauts

Research and Development : Discover and Improve Parts (from a tech tree)

Part recovery

Mission Control Room : Create flight plans and take on missions and challenges

Observatory : Discover new celestial bodies to visit

Spacecraft Construction

Kerbal Seats: External seat parts which allow Kerbals on EVA to approach and sit on them.[2][3]

Exploded View : A schematic visualization of the ship, allowing for greater control over ship functionality

Tweakables : Context menu when rightclicking on a part

Mining Parts

Stack Extensions : Fairings and solid-booster fuel plugs

Spacecraft Stats: Total Weight, Loaded Fuel (per Stage?)

Saving Parts: The ability to save parts and reuse them in a different ship, like a lander. [4]

More space station parts such as crew modules and solar panels

Physics / Dynamics

Wind / Turbulence conditions

Damage effects

New lighting system with better shadows

Better Aerodynamics

Scenery / Graphics

Map Filtering: By clicking on Filtering tabs you will be able view only a specific vessel type on the map[5][2]

Better scenery for space center scene

Matching launchpad scenery in flight

Cities and other geographic points of reference

Space Center Facilities can be destroyed by crash-landing onto them, and fixing them will cost you.

A more complete SDK and documentation (You can help by adding to the wiki!)

Yup. Maybe someone changed it, but I hope they don't remove it. I really loved the idea.

One part of the resource system is that it has to be pretty much include everything at once. Yes you might add more parts like small and large parts but the framework would not be much use incomplete.

You must map, harvest and convert. Doing two of them is pointless.

Look that they mostly focus on performance in 0.20, note the resource system will increase system demands so its make sense to reduce it first.
