Finnan
Jeb, Bill and Bob returned to Kerbal after their historic trip to Duna to find that Kerbal Station, the space station orbiting the planet, gone. No wreckage, no bodies, nothing.

inigma
Here is my latest STS mission, delivering the STS Hubble Space Telescope for my Mission Specialist IV mission:1st attempt: 2nd attempt:A mission to deploy the HST developed by xoknight. This mission also was run to test the new KMU MMU developed by Rune which unfortunately nearly goes all HAL on him. Theoderich
Some good some bad over the last 2 days. I got some contracts done for cash, and finally managed to evacuate the crew of my LKO station. It will remain in orbit though for future expansion, but I got tired of switching there every 5 days because TAC LS complained about their electricity. The landing of that shuttle that obviously needed a bit more wings area took me 15 tries, but in the end I managed to put it down in the desert (far from actually aiming for KSC in my skills). Then I designed a not to expensive compact station with the capacity for 15 kerbals, although only 3 went, but the capacity was needed for a contract. I sent it to Minmus, and was in good spirits, the dV seemed good and I was hoping to land it , get the contract and then move on to the Mun for another contract. There was a tiny flaw in my design: shortly before the capture burn around Minmus I realized that life support would run out in 1 day. So now I started on making a really way to expensive probe loaded with emergency suplies and enoguh dV to probably go anywhere, but from a test run I realized that I need at least 7k dV after reaching LKO to make it in time. The initial design had something between 5 and 6k and although that was enough to get to Minmus in under a day, it was not enough to decelerate enough once there. capi3101
Finished building a new FARplane design from the previous evening (would've finished then but KSP crashed on me), a replacement for the Barn Owl design (i.e. a craft that would lift a 6.3 tonne probe to orbit). Had red numbers but I launched it all the same. It sank into the swa......er, it destabilized and eventually broke up from excessive aerodynamic forces at 7k. Almost made it to the switchover points, though... Edited March 10, 2015 by capi3101
soulsource
After several unsuccessful attempts simulations of the launch of my probe to Mercury (main reason for failure: too low initial TWR of the first stage), I now simply solved the problem the Kerbal way. After adding moar boostars (and having now more than 1 km/s dV spare in the launcher ^^), my probe is now in low earth orbit, waiting for me to plot a course. While I now have plenty of liquid hydrogen left to enter the transfer orbit, I'm on a very tight budget regarding storable propellants. This means, that I have to hit the initial burn on point, as I have nearly no reserves for later course corrections.
michaelhester07
I gave Bob the most metal death ever...He crashed a powered up nuclear Power distribution unit on the mun. The nuclear fireball could be seen from KSC. 2 minutes to midnight... more like 30 seconds realizing the skycrane on the unit had one of the engine's exhausts hitting the flight computer causing the ship to tumble. smjjames
Got hit HARD by the hell kraken when my kerbal smacked into a ship that had just landed (I think, or the ground), when I came back, everything in my base got duplicated and everything was escaping Minmus. Fortunately, I was able to backup to a bit of an earlier state via nereids backup system.
GloriousWater
Launched a ship to wherever (11km/s delta-v), started oscillating dangerously, spammed spacebar to abort, regretted not installing KJR.I also made a VTOL jet, it worked well at first......until I tried landing it. Jeb's glad those cockpits are indestructible.
Panzerbeard
Not today, but the last time I played. My Duna rover landing went less than perfectly.. unfortunately I didn't capture the lithobraking-event landing itself, and most of the rover had sheared off or exploded by the time I got dxtory open and started recording, but I think I recovered it well enough considering I had no torque
Dazpoet
Got a mission to send a station to Jool, it must have 5 kerbals so I decided to send a complete sciencestation in one go. Not sure it'll work yet but I'll see I guess.Still need to attach an antenna, reactor and general docking area. Plan on sending experiments in a seperate package together with a multikerbal return craft. So far the entire thing is just 100 parts and has 6k dv. Will probably gather the RCS blocks with EVA kerbals to reduce partcount and instead add struts using KAS. The whole thing is rather wobbly right now... Draconiator
Sudden burst of inspiration hit. Result?Complete station launched in one go. of course I need an engine pod on it because this is going to Eve soon, and an earlier attempt to launch it WITH an engine pod failed spectacularly. Srpadget
Did assorted minor tasks today. Unfortunately, I seem to have decided to juggle a few TOO many of them too closely together. Crew and science transfer at LKO station (returning crew and science from deep-space tug/transport into spaceplane, and vice-versa). Undock spaceplane, undock tug. Deorbit and land spaceplane. Off to Minmus, circularize orbit of incoming polar science sat which will be used for gravity and temperature survey contracts. Then to Mun, ditto polar-orbit science sat for that body. Munar orbit insertion of new heavy crew-lander for training missions. Set up rendezvous with munar-orbit station. Refocus to the tug/transport back in LKO (remember the tug?), set up transfer orbit to Mun, do a quick systems check......where's the FUEL? ::headdesk:: Guys, you were SUPPOSED to refuel BEFORE WE LEFT! ...Don't you make me stop this spaceship and turn around! But there was nothing for it but to "stop this spaceship and turn around". Luckily, the transport had only drifted about 30km from the LKO station in that time, so one small burn, a single orbit around Kerbin, and there we are back at the gas station. Match velocities, approach for docking, and...At around 100 meters and closing, KAC informs me it's time for the heavy crew lander in Mun orbit (remember the crew lander?) to do its rendezvous burn. ::facepalm:: NOT NOW, DANGIT!Finish docking, REFUEL. And then off to Mun orbit to retarget the rendezvous that I missed because I was redocking the deep-space transport that I forgot to refuel...So, yeah. Minor routine things...but a few too many too close together. AKA "What I did during waiting-for-Duna-launch-window vacation, an essay by Jonmin Kerman, class of '02." cantab
Finally got my Basic Jet FAR spaceplane, the Curtis Special, to orbit! Only just, but it's there.Curtis Special in orbit! by cantab314, on FlickrThe whole thing is loosely based on the Avro Vulcan. FAR heavily nerfs the basic jets, they max out around 330 m/s, so the flight profile is to climb steadily to reach 19 km and Mach 0.9, then light the rocket engine and accelerate and climb to around 30 km, through the aeroplane-spacecraft transition, then carry on much as for a rocket.Re-entry has yet to be tested. As a method to put cargo in orbit this is dreadful, and for launching Kerbals it's not great. But I managed it.

Goddess Bhavani
I read about the totally insane and very ambitious Roton Rotary Rocket and decided I must have a rotary winged rocket in KSP. I also wanted to build a Focke-Wulf Triebflugel for some weeks now and everything fit together in just a couple of hours.Flight testing took about a day and everything seemed to work just fine, including the very tricky transition to horizontal flight and back again. Like the Roton, this craft has a few rather hair raising places in the flight envelope that guarantees loss of flight control, but so long as you're methodical and are patient with the rotor pitch controls, you'll be fine! KSP's SAS function helps a lot with the control and balance of this craft and it's not recommended to try turning it off. I've tried to engineer it to provide ample warning and graceful failure modes but if the main rotor gets damaged it's the emergency parachutes for you Javascript is disabled.
