Yeager: First Kerbal to intentionally break the sound barrier........actually he broke it twice.

Once in level flight and again going straight down in an unplanned maneuver when his outer wing tips came off during a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

Actually in the movie he's holding his helmet, so we don't know if it's broken or not... In real life, Gen. Yeager lost control of his F-104 Starfighter, and ejected. When he did, he was in such a violent spin that when the seat separated from him and his parachute opened, the seat flew back around and hit him in the side of the head, with the part of the seat that still contained burning ejection rockets... Broke his helmet and burned the left side of his head and neck.

Chuck Yeager took a rocket to the face and kept on trucking... Now that's a Test Pilot!

Nice pic Tommy :)

Thanks guys, I hope you find the history "informative"?
