Hello to all. I finally have a couple of rovers that i would like to show using short video. Sorry, but i have not done that before so if there is some post or place to look to get idea of how to do this would be great. All craft are using the great stuff from here (yes sirkut, i finally managed to build them backwards..)..

again, thanks for info to point me in right direction to be able to show you my new craft and get feedback on them.

NOTE: Ok, lets see if this works.

5.61 ton rover package. I have skycrane versions for atmospheric and non-atmospheric landings as well. Please enjoy and i look forward to comments.

Trying this out, never posted a video and only my second video. This is all new to me. so i have much to learn. anyway i used the ANT for a size reference. i posted pics of this rover once before. But its redesigned a little. i tried to make it a functional explorer

I did not make a good video, i left out a few of its functions and really did not display its stability.

The 'idea' is that if i land on rough, uneven terrain, the stabilization flaps give me more of a chance to not roll over and bust the mission. I am currently at 50% like, 50% going to change to something different. The plethora of antennae are just to make sure i don't 'leave home without it'... This was basically a major test bed / proof of concept. The basic idea for this rover is you send it out first. It can handle less than optimal landing zones and terrain. I use it to remotely scout around for where i want to send the troops and kit. Once they arrive, they can use it for scouting, resource transfer, currently via Lazor Systems. I will be adding crane attachments, and various other items that it will be able to hook upto and use.

Thanks for the nice comment. I appreciate it. I will work on getting the video's better this next go. I think the next vid will show the sky-crane delivery system with the rover. Now i just need to think of a good name for the rover.

First thing I've built since I started Infernal Robotics. RollKage(front wheels,cabin, rtg engine), Catepillar (tank tracks), Infernal Robotics (lots of things), B9 (flat platform, headlights), Alchemy Technologies Modular Girder (rail & counterweights), KAS (winch) and lastly soon to be released MSI Animator (the claw!)

Just tried this mod out and i am not sure if i am missing something. Many parts (Telescoping Pistons, Open Hinges, Rotatorotrons, Rail) seem to be missing a second attachment node. Also, why do the unpowered docking hinges (bearings?) show up in the servo control? Nevertheless, great mod with many useful parts, thanks a lot to all the developers and modelers for this!

Rotatrons only have one node by default. Telescoping Pistons have a second node inside of them. The unpowered parts show up in the servo control inside the VAB/SPH but do not actually get any control.

I know I said it before but I will be updating the parts soon. I've had a lot of things happening in RL that has kept me away from KSP.

The next major update to the plugin will be to support the external mod kOS. I still have a lot to go with this feature.

I love the parts, specifically I love the unpowered rotatron. Would it be possible to create a connection similar to a ball hitch, or an unpowered hinge? Basically I'm looking to build a trailer hitch connection for my rovers to move things around with. A vertically placed bearing is a start, but it doesn't provide any pitch articulation for when I change inclines.

You could put a clamp-o-tron on top of an unpowered/free-spinning docking washer for such a joint?

Flip it for the complimentary connecting element, which would allow connections like

[WASHER]

[V clamp V]

[^ clamp ^]

[WASHER]

I think, as both the washers would spin. Not sure about the shear strength on docking though

I think enki is looking for something that would function like this construct, but it won't perform like enki thinks it will.

That would take a whole new section of code, I think. Might be wrong though.

I've made an unpowered hinge for my own use, its a very simple config edit. Comparing the docking washer with the free moving washer you will see the only difference is the value of jointSpring. Use this value in a copy of a hinge and it will spin freely :)

Another easy edit while im on the subject - I wanted a hinge that only opened to a right angle (for doors mainly). Just need to edit a single line again: rotateMax = 90.0

I just wanted to say thank you again Sirkut for taking on this project. You have made major advances in the robotics area of KSP. And thank you also to DEVO and ZodiusInfuser for your devotion in adding and improving this mod. Although this was originally created by another dev. You have given the community what it really wanted and asked for. And then there is the support aspect. You have stayed with this and listened with rapid responses. You guys deserve to have credit where it is due. Great Job!
