Experimental phase. Which to me means playtesting and maybe looking at a kind of stress test perhaps seeing what mods work, how they interact with new stuff. So they can get a sense of how changes will impact play... or it is some strange experiment I have never heard of :wink:

No ,they announced experimental earlier this evening, and it sure as hell doesn't take under a day to go through that phase. I'd say by the end of the week or beginning next week. The site can be down for multiple reasons: fiddling with the servers, some trouble with the DNS servers (yet again), maintenance, etc. Uploading a new version should take the website down technically.

...no but seriously, we don't know, they don't know, nobody knows. It could come in the next hour as the next month, depending on what is found, what needs fixing and so on.

Take a chill pill people, if you're already going in the "it's the end of this week, I'm sure" certitudes, you'll only be disappointed when your own prediction is false.

It went into QA last Tuesday. I'd bet on next Tuesday for release on .21 barring any show stoppers discovered in the current phase.

to correct you it went into QA june 26th according to announcement, and now it has left the QA phase and officially as of yesterday july 9th, it is in the experimental testing phase, if all goes well then it will be released to the public. Going by the last experimental phase for 0.20 it was 4 business days. barring any new issues hopefully if we are lucky we will get to play 0.21 over the weekend :P but that is just me hoping, probably will be next week sometime

I stand corrected, however, have they ever released over a weekend? I'm still betting on next Tuesday :P

i wondered the same thing myself and looked back the other day when i was hoping it would release last weekend, found one that was released on a sunday. can't remember which build though

My hope is for a spaceport-game integration. :D

What would the use of that be? It would mean having to run a whole lot of extra software if you just want to install a mod, and also consume a bit of extra resources when you just want to play the game. Why make it more complex than it has to be? "Drop the mod folder into the GameData folder" is pretty great, if you ask me.
