Eve's terrain also got redesigned!

I found that out the rather hard way when I tried to look after my rover, to find it 800m below the sea level...

The terrain changes are actually quite big, it's like one side of the planet is just a huge continent with very little water and lots of mountains, while the other side is very beachy.

Also, the terrain colour is slightly different.

It looks like it's glowing now, didn't someone say Eve would be where blutonium could be found?

True, but glowing isn't an indicator of radiation, unless there is a phosphor of some sort in Eve's surface that the radiation is causing to glow.

I believe the atmosphere is highly charged and the glow is caused by Cherenkov radiation.

Two important questions:

Has the highest point been changed?

I thought I saw that high mountain from orbit, but I haven't looked closer.

Has the terrain mesh been fixed so that you don't spontaneously explode on reload?

No. In my case at least I've had a few landers explode when I load from a save.

The highest point has changed. The area around the previous 6400m mountain is much lower now. There is a different mountain around 7500 meters (if you use low terrain settings, specifically maxSubdivision, it will be closer to 7400 meters), on the other side of the planet. One of the first things I did in 0.21 after I noticed this change was collect a bunch of ISA Mapsat data and play with it in Matlab.
