Ship-mounted flags?

This is a small one but I'd love a way to mount my mission flag on the ship. Since I've started using the new flag generator that comes with the ribbon generator, it allows me to make a lot more options- but I can't really show them on a probe...

Have you tried the "KSP Flag Decals" mod? Not sure if it works for 0.21.

Worse case, you could edit the texture for the part you want the flag on. Not exactly user friendly though.

The KSP Decals mod KINDA works. If there's any flex in a model- you know, if the collider isn't exactly set to the surface, the flag sinks in and becomes invisible/clipped. And I think it might be nice to have a -stock- part to do this Especially since with that utility I can make a flag per mission group c.c

I agree. After all, ever single mission to space, from any country, had a unique mission "patch". In most cases, this was put on the craft itself! Would be great for story immersion.

The KSP Decals mod has another huge problem, if you used a mission flag instead of you normal flag, it only work as long as you don't leave the ship and come back or load a quicksave, if you do that, the flag goes back to the crapy default image used by the part in the editor

I think decals were planned at some point. I mean, there used to be a decals tab(that was empty) in the VAB not too long ago. It's probably just a rather low priority. Then again, maybe they just gave up on that dream.

Either way, people are always in favor of ideas that promote customization of...just about anything you'd want to customize. Kerbonaut suits/colors, part colors, decals, flags, promotions and so on. I know I'm always a hundred percent in favor of such features or suggestions.

StarVision's Flag Decals + Flagpole[0.21.1] is the mod you want.
