I'd sub this for "Ride of the Valkyries" any day (it's also my favorite song off the album):

Funny you mention that, Ride of the Valkyries was meant to be covered as part of the Volkswagner project, but I can't find that particular track for love nor money.

I have to laugh at the modified Portal song. That actually does fit fairly well.

Ignoring for a minute that Two Steps from Hell is all the soundtrack you could ever need to all things epic (including songs that make mundane things, like eating a sandwich, feel epic).

For a more...conventional sound track, I often turn to Streetlight Manifesto. Watch it Crash might be particularly appropriate:

As a perhaps grand feel the the epic genre that Two Steps does so much of, the band Hybrid. The song Keep it in the Family will make you feel like a supervillain if played in orbit (I find that it usually evokes the image of perhaps a giant floating airship slowly eclipsing the sun). I find most of their stuff wouldn't be great for launch, though Hooligan Spirit might be an exception. This is perhaps one of the best songs for getting 'in the zone' I have ever heard.

Well this one pops into my head from time to time (I wish I could have it in youtube videos during liftoffs.

I could not decide between James T. Kirk singing this or Elton John, but I decided to give credit to the original artist and let others decide what version gets stuck in their head.

Oh and for those long trips you need a good driving song!

I have others, but these felt more in spirit of the game to me. There is a Pantera song I like for stepping foot on planets called "Walk", or for those oddball days "I can't Drive 55".

I actually find the in-game music that plays in the VAB really soothing, so I usually don't put anything on while I'm building my ships. But If I can force my computer to run Spotify and KSP at the same time, "Bulletproof Heart" by My Chemical Romance has always seemed to fit the tone of orbital maneuvers or landings.

Of course, when it comes to launches, you can't beat this one.
