Ability to lock solar panel orientation

I saw a couple of very nice replicas of the Apollo-Soyuz program on the Spacecraft Exchange, and that got me thinking: What if we could lock solar panel orientation the way we lock gimbals? Perhaps to make a wall panel or something along those lines that couldn't be done with the structural panels (due to size, perhaps)? I don't know how difficult or easy this'd be from a coding perspective, but it'd certainly allow for some nice aesthetics, and more authenticity on early probe replicas.

Also, if this is already in game, could a mod lock this?

Definitely, especially with the gigantor. I did a replica of JAXA's Selene Kaguya, and it had a large panel 'paddle' but the rotation of the panel keft making it look silly. And for space stations too, it would be quite useful

Yes, I would like this as well, maybe with the Tweakables. I really hope they are the main focus of 0.23

i'm really hoping squad pick up on the procedural mods knocking round and run with it. some GUI changes, and a few graphics tweaks (as well as hours of work behind the scene i bet) and it would be perfect. not just fairings, or tanks, but solar panels (perhaps even the option to coat a set part in panels?) and batteries.

Locking sounds real good to me. Just like the steering lock on wheels, gimbal lock on engines, etc.
