Are there many planets?

Recommended Posts

I have a question. I understand the game is in development. I played the demo and loved it. Does the game have many different planets, or will it eventually? Also can modders add planets? This game looks pretty awesome, and I might pick it up today on Steam as it's on sale.

Welcome to the forums! :)

The wiki has a complete list of all the planets and moons available in the game here. Be forewarned that reading up on them before you visit any of them might spoil the nature and location of some of the Easter eggs Squad has hidden for us to find.

As far as mods to add planets go: I know there was one in the works earlier, but the creator seems to have abandoned it in an unfinished state.

Try accessing the wiki. Google is also your friend.
Or ask fellow players on the game's official forum. Oh hey! That's us!

There are 6 other planets which have 6 moons between them. There are probably going to be additional worlds as the game develops, but plans are still pretty tentative.

There are 16 worlds currently in the KSP solar system. The planets are analogues for Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, and Pluto, the rest are moons that don't have much in common with what we have. There are no asteroids in the stock game at present but there are mods that add them.

Anyway, KSP will take over your life if you let it. So welcome aboard but we warned :).

In the dev streams before the PRpocalypse, it was mentioned that Dres was envisioned as the largest object in in what would become an asteroid belt between Duna and Jool. However, then the PRpocalypse occurred, and I've not encountered anything official-sounding about plans for asteroids since then.
