Kerbal Attachment System (KAS) 0.4.7 - Pipes as fuel lines and even fewer explosions!

Put it understrain, as in have it lifting a load, make sure it is hanging and not in retracted position.

*EDIT* Maybe its the stack piece under the winch?

I have been trying to recreate this and have had no luck, quicksaving every second - time warping etc.

Setup is HxzrJHH.jpg

It works for me, DrMadmaN, but it took me a couple tries, as I messed up the two-step installation for 32-bit. You download KAS from the first page of this thread; step 2, you overwrite the KAS.dll with the 32-bit recompile linked in the sig of JeffersonFlight's post just above yours. Follow the links in his sig for more detailed instructions for 32-bit or 64-bit (depending on which version you're playing).

Is it supposed to work with 0.24? Cause during loading KSP says that mod is incompatible and taking stuff from containers ain't work.

Yes it does, I would follow the instructions below and read through them 100%

Today my Kerbal proved that Einstein was right, according to KAS/KSP. My Kerbal grabbed a Gravmax accidently, he should take the data. After the detector drifted away in space over mun (i think i tapped the wrong key), Bill did a spacewalk and rushed behind it to grab it again... Instantly, when he grabbed it, he was on a suborbital trajetory nearly perpendicular to the surface... Sry for not having a log, but if anybody has the same experience... could be a wormhole ;-)

Are you on 64bit or 32bit Kerbal Space Program? You can check this at the main menu of KSP by looking down to the bottom right of your screen.

I get a similar issue when grabbing vanilla science parts too (it sets relative velocity to 0 for some reason). How would I generate a log file, considering it doesn't crash?

All output_log files are automatically stored in KSP/KSP_Data folder every time you launch the game. Copy that onto a Pastebin or into your Dropbox folder and put it here, or anytime you post about needing support. Otherwise, you won't get any responses. Just for future reference.

Just to report I'm having issues with containers. Without the fix, I couldn't remove items from them. With Jefferson's fix, I removed a battery - which then slid off the Kerbal's back and fell through the base he was standing on and the surface of Minmus. It appears to have remained attached to the Kerbal, as the camera for him ended up inside Minmus.

Linux 64 bit.

I´m on 64bit KSP. KAS fix 0.24.2 is installed.

Well its really interesting because some people have been getting this issue but then it is resolving but for the mean time I have uploaded a third 64bit fix to this post. It may fix the issue that you all are getting with grabbing. Download KAS_64bit_24_3.zip from this post Also try on a new save and ship if you already haven't. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/53134-Kerbal-Attachment-System-%28KAS%29-0-4-7-Pipes-as-fuel-lines-and-even-fewer-explosions%21?p=1319122&viewfull=1#post1319122

Hi. Recently i have more and more issues with "hatch is obstructed" problems, and kerbals that cannot leave on eva. Right now i have a vessel where eva on the launchpad is no problem, no error message, meaning there is no part "obstructing" the hatch, but the exact same vessel on course to dres where the kerbals cannot eva and the "hatch is obstructed" message appears.

Ok, granted this is not my only mod, but i suspect kas is the bad boy in this one. Any ideas what to do?

Is anything covering the hatch? :P

That is the first time I have heard of any issue like that, I would make sure anything isn't obstructing the hatch. If that doesn't work disable KAS mod and see if it works then.

Does this work with 0.24+ or will it be updated soon?

There is an unofficial fix in my signature with a tutorial on installing it.

it does on x32bit but will show compatibility warning without recompile

I have a 32bit recompile that will remove the compatibility check in my signature :)

I was messing with GRAB module (https://github.com/KospY/KAS/wiki/Part-Modules) and I have a problem - if the direction of grabbed part is specified as normal vector of its surface, there is no way to "roll" that part if vector is specified as: evaPartDir = (x,y,z) right? Is there any kind of additional setting for that? Currently I got my kerbal to hold long kethane tank on backpack (copy-paste code, change part name) but he's holding it vertically so it clips into ground and his head and also bounces away when dropped gently.

And that's the issue with a lot of parts I added that module to. Anybody did that somehow?

Don't know if you can fix this, but I thought I'd report it.

I returned to Kerbin with four solar panels in the small container. Upon recovering the vehicle, I did not receive credit for those four. I received funds only for the container itself.

Perhaps this is a KSP issue. Perhaps, it is KAS. I don't know.
