Testing a fuel transfer rover on Kerbin... highlighted its solar panel, and "blocked by Mun"... Looked up, and Holy ****, it is.

I love Solar Eclipse's in this game, Although the common nature of these events make them kinda... not special after awhile, It's still definitely the coolest and prettiest Celestial event KSP has to offer.

One bug/ feature is that you get eclipses even if the blocking body is not visible against the sun. Had an eclipse caused by Kerbin outside Minmus orbit, was sending an kethane miner to Jool and was cracking kethane, this stopped and I found Kerbin blocked the solar panels however it was not visible. The Jool landing had problems because of this, ending up having to shift power to upper stage and shutting down most reaction wheels, however Tylo was not visible.

Wonder how wild this can get, can Gilly cause an eclipse outside Eeloo?

Evidence points to: Eclipse is calculated by checking for alignments, not the size of a planets shadow (in the distance).

But the daily eclipse of Kerbol by Mun on Kerbin must be the reason for the patch of "sub-tropical" Tundra just north of KSC ... ?

I don't believe the eclipses happen every day.

According to mah calculations, there will always be about 12 kerbin days between eclipses (from one point on the equator)

I've had one eclipse, 100% perfect, while in orbit, and I warped past it because I didn't notice until the last second ;_;
