Why does the cloud layer keep showing up as green lines? http://i.imgur.com/H4A15qf.jpg

Either version does the same thing. Low res or high res...

Edit - Just deleted citylights because they were glitchy... Now it looks like this. http://i.imgur.com/sxdE1rA.jpg

No, the resolution is the same. The trick is not in what information is there, but what information is perceivable. Color creates separation that alpha cannot. Thus I have lowered alpha by bringing the exposure down.

At a low resolution, pixelization lowers the number of light levels in a gradient. Lowering the difference in brightness value between each neighboring pixel makes the gradient appear smoother, without changing any rbg ratios that would bring that same detail to the image.

Besides, at this distance the smaller part of the lens flare is just more than half its actual size.

Awesome, thanks for the info! But if you're lowing the exposure surely it's really dull/dim in game?

This version DOES work with 0.90 Beta. I just installed clouds on Kerbin, Eve, Jool, and Laythe. I have sandstorms on Duna. I added auroras to all of these planets also. I removed city lights without any problems. I also added texture replacer and have visor reflections, alternate space suits and, removed helmets in breathable environments. If you are having problems with this mod you have installed it wrong.

BETA is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

Texture problems with EVE seem to be related to certain texture file types or being real close to the memory limit. Why? I don't know, but if you convert any odd files to DDS or PNG and make sure your memory limit is in check you shouldn't suffer the strange texture issues.

PNG files get ruined by Active Texture Management.

I couldn't use the Glass Panes and Enclosures mod because of that ;.;

ATM converts all PNG, etc. texture into .DDS, I believe, and thus destroys most of the stuff possible only with PNG like transparency.

Hold-up here, what textures did you have problems with? ATM shouldn't do anything like that, it preserves alpha.

You know KSP also converts PNGs to DDS as well, right? Well, it decompresses it first, then asks Unity to compress it to a DDS (which do support transparency, btw, provided they have the alpha channel correctly preserved).

Textures from this mod.

After uninstalling ATM, the parts worked fine

.

ATM does something weird with the same Alpha channel, making transparency impossible. At least that's what I found out, at least for the parts mentioned above.

To be completely honest, this conclusion was made solely from personal experience.

ATM is an awesome mod, and helped me out through heavily-moded procedures.

For those who had this issue with the city lights showing like it covers everything during night time, including the water, just delete every file there (tga - png) and save this 2 png in the textures folder

Found this 2 images inside an old copy of KSP plus EVE and they look awesome in game.

Cheers

Apparently I am unable to dissect mod from mod here and therefore unable to properly install this. I tried and KSP locked itself up during loading a few times. Could you guys help me?

"All I want" is city lights and clouds for kerbin, that's it. Duna sandstorms are a plus but not needed at all. I just want Kerbin to be prettier. :)

So.... why am I getting these creepy pink and white textures for any planet/moon with an atmosphere?

I need to use active texture management, told it not to touch boulderco, reinstalled this several times.

Originally used the Astronomer Interstellar pack thing, then used standard this thinking it was issue, but nope!

I cannot seem to manage to find the issue, so any help available?

Ok thank you for this wonderful mod, it worked just fine, however, when i rotate the earth, the other half of it seems to be unscripted, all white, and when i change camera angle it returns normal, then if i change the angle once again it bugs out looking all white, is it like that? or maybe something i need to do ?

I'm just testing KSP 0.90 x64 on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) running on a VMware Workstation. Everything runs surprisingly smooth and fine, only problem I ran into so far is this:

Kerbin

jZGuu.jpg

Laythe

uWgWo.jpg

Basically all planets with cloud layers (Kerbin, Duna, Laythe) are completely covered and white. Tried several things, changing game resolutions and graphic settings, used different cloud resolutions, nothing helped. Anyone any idea? Maybe changing some config files?

hello,

i 'had the same problem as you last night, and as a good noob i didn' t saved anything:sealed::

i have installed:

1:Environmental Visual Enhancements 7.4 ,

2: Astronomer's Visual Pack - Interstellar V2: http://kerbal.curseforge.com/ksp-mod...l-pack-v3-beta, i 'have followed all steps, a,d installed everything (in recommended quality) exept: sandstorm, skybox, new sun, holidays season light.

and i had exactly the same kind on the big map of clouds(all white) on the big map in in flight too but it wasn't so ugly, just really cloudy(maybe 70% of the sky) but didn't took printscreen(noob.v2)

So i 've tried to reinstall the interstellar pack: nothing changed.

Suddently i remenbered the installation replaced some .png, and the very helpfull Active-Memory-Reduction-Mod (TextureCompressor) save the compressed images in cache.

so go to the the cache( C:\Program Files\PXG\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\ActiveTextureManagement\textureCache\BoulderCo for me)

and delete everything inside( there is 2 folders inside:citylights and clouds).

lauch the the game and enjoy !! (it can be long to wait the 1st time because active memory reduction have to compress the clouds textures, if it crash reload it until it works).

now i have this:

http://snag.gy/iqyks.jpg

maybe it can help most of us..

Got the problem with the city lights that has been so abused in this thread.

I only wanted the city lights, but decided to go for it since I need clouds on Eve too, etc. etc. etc.

So, I installed the full package (no dust storms).

And I got my other side of Kerbin covered in the new pretty city lights...everywhere.

Several people posted a screenshots of their planet's night side being all nice and yellow, so I won't do that :P

Also...

YAY FOR OVER-COLONIZATION!
