I feel it's related to Mars and its rovers. (Red planet, the part with water, rovers constructed by the best of the best, making rocks disappear with laser, sun powered...)

From what I've seen of past riddles I don''t feel hints like that are very helpful. They seem to just end up inviting a lot of scattergun guessing. This time I have been ruling out entire categories of thing as a stroke, usually in response to someone guessing a bunch of things in some category or other. But I suppose I can expand the riddle.

Called a colour, seems unfair,

A... no. Maybe it's a... no, that's ridiculous. Hmm...

Perhaps a line sinker,

but not for just a tinker?

Maybe a reel it is,

but I cannot know for sure.

Until I am confirmed,
